Writing Exercises App: A Curious Words Review

Writing ExercisesMy creative writing productivity has taken some serious hits lately. Between all the work of moving and unpacking (God, I hate moving) as well as developing the next level I’ll be taking Curious Words to, I’ve been having a hard time kicking my fiction-writing brain back into gear.

By the way, did I mention I hate moving? Because I totally hate moving. At some point, I set my down tablet (without which 100% of Curious Words’ tech vault is frozen in place) amidst all the boxes and shuffling furniture. It was lost for almost two months before I FINALLY found it this week! I was getting so frustrated! But, now that I have it, I am an app-reviewing machine!

Even better, uncovering my tablet has done more than knock loose a few tech blogs. This latest app, Writing Exercises, has also shaken out some fiction ideas that I can’t wait to try!

Bottom line: if you are stuck with writer’s block, you need to stop everything and check out this Writing Exercises App.

Writing ExercisesThis free app offers randomly-generated writing prompts. You get four categories of prompts: First Line, Subject, Character, and Plot. In addition, you get a tab to save your favorite prompts to.

Saving your favorites is super easy. Select Save at the top right corner and then confirm. Easy-peasy.

I love how simple and straightforward the app is. There’s no fluff, and it’s extremely maneuverable.

More than that, their About This App page includes a link to the full website. Here they offer an expansive set of options(21 categories, at the writing of this article) for generating writing prompts and exercises. Plus, you get additional features to explore in their sidebar, like a rhyming dictionary and a set of creative writing competition links.

Check it out and let me know what you think!
