Quick and Easy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Break time from my novel writing! Nothing beats my frustration with writer’s block better than a plate full of still-warm cookies and a tall glass of ice cold milk.

This recipe is one of my go-tos. You can use regular chocolate chips, but the chunks make the cookies so much more chocolatey and gooey that I always use them instead (lately I’ve had to go on quite the journey to find them, too! My Giant Eagle has stopped carrying them. Sadness).

What you need:
¾ C brown sugar
¾ C Sugar
1 egg
2 sticks of butter, softened
1 tsp vanilla
2 ¼ C flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
16 oz bag of chocolate chunks
1 C walnuts (if desired)

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Mix wet ingredients with sugar until blended.
  3. Sift salt and baking soda into the flour, then mix into the sugar mix. Add in the chocolate chunks, mixing well.
  4. Roll cookie dough into balls and space out evenly on cookie sheets. Bake 8-10 minutes and enjoy!
